BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
The purchase of a new ambulance that has “Bariatric” capabilities was approved in the adopted FY 2025 budget. The department has located a new unit, manufactured by Braun and sold by Siddons Martin Emergency Group for $409,230.00 that will be completed in October 2024. This price utilizes a HGAC buying agreement.
ISSUE:
The current bariatric capable ambulance is 11 years old and is no longer suited for frontline service.
