BACKGROUND INFORMATION:

On May 9, 2022, City Council approved capital improvement projects for preliminary design or design updates in preparation for a proposed 2023 Bond Election that included preliminary design of South Kowald Lane by Poznecki-Camarillo Engineers.

The proposed project will expand the existing roadway to include a center turn lane between IH-35 and FM 1101. Turn lanes and traffic signal upgrades will be made at the intersections with IH-35, Sophie Lane, and FM 1101. Pedestrian improvements will be made by installing 6’ sidewalks on both sides of Kowald Lane. Improvements will also be made to the drainage infrastructure.

City Staff requested Poznecki-Camarillo provide an updated scope and fee for completion of the plans, specifications, cost estimates, and construction administration services. Poznecki- Camarillo submitted a proposal for an hourly not to exceed amount of $1,273,120.
