BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
In April 2024, the City of New Braunfels acquired 130.49 acres of land for a future community park in the city's Northwest quadrant. The newly acquired property lies adjacent to 15.03 acres held by the New Braunfels Park Foundation and connects to the Alligator Creek Trail project. A Request for Qualifications (RFQ) was issued for the Master Plan and Schematic Design of the project, including both parcels. The City received 16 responses and staff evaluated and scored each submission. Staff interviewed the top three scoring firms and selected RVi Planning + Architecture as the most qualified in June 2024. Staff then worked with RVi to develop a scope and refine the fee for the project.
As a result of that process, staff and the consulting team have agreed to a total cost of $894,583.15 for the services described above.
