BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
The Landa Park Aquatic Complex (LPAC) Olympic Pool was constructed in 1968. To evaluate the current condition and operation of the Olympic Pool the City engaged Progressive Commercial Aquatics to perform an engineering assessment on the pool. An ADA accessibility assessment was also performed on the Olympic Pool and the surrounding pool deck. Both assessments were completed in September of 2024.
The engineering assessment indicated a need to make several improvements to the Olympic Pool due to the age of the infrastructure and current aquatic codes. The improvements include replacing all of the supply, drain, and return piping under and around the pool, reconfiguring and replacing the pump, and installing a UV filter on the zero-entry kiddie pool. In conjunction with the pool piping replacement, the pool deck will also be replaced to be in compliance with ADA requirements.
The City is utilizing a Buy-Board contract to procure the major renovation services from Progressive Commercial Aquatics. The total contract value is $1,306,187.85 and staff is recommending a 10% contingency of $130,620 for a total contract award of $1,436,807.85.
