BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
Staff is requesting approval of the purchase of vehicles and equipment for Public Works and the New Braunfels Police Department. The new equipment for Public Works will be utilized by the Drainage division to maintain city drainage areas. The new vehicle for the New Braunfels Police Department will replace an existing vehicle that is being retired from service. The replacement vehicle has either met or exceeded its useful life as determined by the fleet services division.
The City will utilize multiple vendors: Lake Country Chevrolet through a TIPS cooperative contract, and Holt Truck Center through a Buyboard cooperative contract, both of which have been competitively vetted. The schedule below will provide details of each purchase.

FISCAL IMPACT:
The costs for the Public Works equipment described above are incorporated into the Storm Water Development Fees Fund. The cost for the New Braunfels Police Department vehicle described above is incorporated into the FY 2026 Adopted Budget within the General Fund. Therefore, sufficient funds are available to purchase vehicles and equipment.
