BACKGROUND INFORMATION:

Staff is requesting approval for purchase of a chassis and the remounting of the EMS body. This vehicle is a replacement vehicle that is approved in the FY 2026 Budget. The EMS body on this replacement vehicle will be remounted on the new chassis. The replacement vehicle has met its useful life as determined by our fleet services division and the Fire Department.

 

The city will utilize Frazer as the vender with a HGAC-RMT contract which has been competitively vetted.  The schedule below will provide detail to the purchase.

In addition, staff recommends declaring the replaced chassis surplus which allows for the future sale or donation of the asset.

 

ISSUE:

Staff are requesting the replacement of asset 20402 to maintain fiscal stability of city operations.

FISCAL IMPACT:

The cost for the vehicle described above is incorporated into the FY 2026 Adopted Budget within the Fire Department’s General Fund allocation. Therefore, sufficient funds are available to purchase the vehicle.
