BACKGROUND INFORMATION:

The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) formalizes the capital project coordination between the City of New Braunfels (“the City”) and New Braunfels Utilities (NBU). This MOU is an update to the MOU approved by both agencies in 2017.

 

Both the City and NBU have Capital Improvement Plans that plan projects over a multi-year period. By coordinating both agencies’ plans, it allows for more efficient project delivery from a cost, schedule, and public impact standpoint. The MOU details coordination during project development and planning and coordination during the construction phase by utilizing the joint bid process.

 

 

ISSUE:

Continue an ongoing program of infrastructure construction and maintenance.

FISCAL IMPACT:
