BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
The New Braunfels City Council approved a resolution establishing the Business Improvement & Preservation Grant Program at its October 23, 2023 meeting.
An online grant application was opened in late October 2023 and the Economic and Community Development has since collected applications for the TIRZ 3 Board to review on a rolling basis.
To date, six total grants have been approved by the TIRZ 3 Board and City Council.
Paid grants include:
- Celebrations: Roof repairs & revitalized sign - $5,000
- La Belle Vie: Repair of transom windows, adding exterior signage, and replace storefront windows - $8,932
- Luxe Design Studio: Replacement of awning, adding exterior signage, and repair exterior brick - $7,834.26
- Red Stag: Repair of exterior stucco - $8,233.74
Approved projects still underway and awaiting grant payment:
- New Braunfels Elks Lodge #2279: Design of fire sprinkler system, fire alarm flow test, and the installation of a fire alarm system - $7,943.75
- New Braunfels Art League: Repair of window sealants, brick sealants, and water repellent to exterior brick - $13,065.50
Staff will present outstanding grant applications for the TIRZ 3 Board for consideration at this meeting, Applicants receiving grant approval will be advanced to the City Council for final consideration.

TIRZ 3 Board addresses outstanding applications and advances selected grant projects for upcoming City Council consideration.
