BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
Through TxDOT’s Off-System Bridge Program, the Landa Park Drive over the Mill Pond Bridge has qualified for funding to be replaced along with sidewalk and bridge rail improvements. Currently the project is in design, but right-of-way could be needed along with utility adjustments before the project is released for construction bidding. The new bridge will be a total of 43 feet wide consisting of two - 12 foot travel lanes, two - 1 foot shoulders, one - 10 foot sidewalk on the eastern side, one - 5 foot sidewalk on the western side with bridge rails and a length of 141 feet. The estimated timeline for construction is 2025 or 2026.
ISSUE:
The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) is requesting a resolution of support for the project. A project overview was presented to City Council on April 15, 2024.
