Summer Staffing
Summer hiring is in full swing and staff is working hard to fill their positions and complete their staff trainings. Fischer Park is fully staffed with their 5/5 seasonal recreation instructors. Landa Recreation has hired 4/4 camp coordinators, and 24/24 camp counselors. Landa Park Aquatics has 8/8 coordinators, 24/24 cashiers and 24/60 lifeguards. 18 Lifeguards are pending onboarding documents putting us at 42/60.
Saengerfest
The Park Foundation participated in Saengerfest on May 2nd and operated the Wine Park with 11 local wineries offering tastings, glasses of wine, and bottles of wine for sale to festival guests. The Foundation also organized a Silent Auction and Wine Basket Raffle to raise additional funds. The turnout was lower than in previous years, but it was still a good day of fundraising. Final revenue numbers are still being compiled.
Northwest Park Clean-Up
The Transportation and Construction Services Department took an approval of a contract with Lonestar Civil for site cleanup and removal services for the Northwest Park primitive trails project to City Council on May 11.
