BACKGROUND INFORMATION:

The City of New Braunfels is the owner of a 1.139 acre parcel of land located on Coco Lane.  This property is adjacent to the former City Landfill and was platted in 1989.  The City has recently received an inquiry regarding the potential to sell this property. 

 

 

ISSUE:

Sec. 253.014 of the Local Government Code, allows for municipalities to contract with a Real Estate Broker to list a property for sale with a multiple-listing service (MLS) for at least 30 days.  After the 30th day, the City may sell the property to a ready, willing and able buyer who submits the highest cash offer.  Once the buyer has been identified, the City will enter into a purchase contract and commence with the conveyance of the property. 

 

 

FISCAL IMPACT:

 

The Comal County Appraisal District assessed value of the property is $227,240.00.

Staff recommends approval.
