BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
With the adoption of the FY 2024 Budget, City Council approved funding for design and permitting for the golf course bunker renovations and the restoration and renovation of the golf course clubhouse back patio. These costs were originally budgeted and accounted for in FY 2024, however, as the project timelines shifted, the cost below will need to be paid in FY 2025. Therefore, the Parks and Recreation Department - Golf Course Fund is seeking a budget amendment of $485,500 to cover the expenses associated with these initiatives in FY 2025.
Project Information:
• Due to the aging of the golf course bunkers and the clubhouse back patio, the Parks and Recreation Department has identified necessary maintenance and repair work to ensure continued customer satisfaction.
• Drainage issues have indicated that the golf course bunkers are approaching the end of their lifespan and require repairs. The project will solve the bunker drainage issues by installing a capillary concrete base layer and new sand, ensuring optimal gameplay.
• The golf course's back patio had previously been closed due to rotting boards and unsafe conditions. This project would vastly improve the condition of the deck, allowing it to be utilized for tournaments and other events.
