BACKGROUND INFORMATION:

Currently, the NBU board of trustees are appointed in October with terms of office commencing on November 1^st. However, on August 23, 2021, Council adopted Ordinance 2021-63 that amended the Code of Ordinances, Section 2-56 to align all terms for city board and commissions to begin either on December 1^st or June 1^st, with appointments occurring either November or May, respectively.

ISSUE:

The proposed ordinance amendment will bring into conformity the appointment and commencement date for term limits of the NBU Board of Trustees with those ordinance changes previously approved by City Council, by changing the month of appointment from October to November, and changing the term commencement from November 1^st to December 1^st.

FISCAL IMPACT:

No fiscal impact.
