Approval of the first reading of an ordinance amending Article V Section 86-7(d) of the Code of Ordinances to define revenue collected from paid parking at Prince Solms Park to go to the River Activities Fund.
Body
BACKGROUND / RATIONALE:
At the January 8, 2018 City Council meeting, the City Council approved the first reading of the ordinance revision to increase the parking fee to $20.00 and extend the parking season to begin on May 1 and end on Labor Day with a vote of 6-1.
It has been the practice of the City to put the revenue collected from Paid Parking at Prince Solms Park in the River Activities Fund. City Council directed staff to revise the ordinance to officially codify that practice into the language of the ordinance. This is similar to the recent ordinance passed by City Council regarding paid parking at the Elizabeth Street lots.
