BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
The City issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) for goods and services related to traffic signage, which was publicly posted on both the City’s website and in the local newspaper. Two (2) responses were received to the solicitation. These responses were evaluated in accordance with Local Government Code 252 to determine best value for the organization. It was deemed that both respondents offered goods and services that were beneficial to the City. As such, staff recommends awarding contracts to both Diamond R Contracting LLC and Centerline Supply Inc.
These contracts provide line-item pricing for the signs and hardware related to installation. In addition, the contracts provide installation rates for the various signs used throughout the City. These contracts ensure that sign specifications and installation processes adhere to all TxDOT Specifications include the TxDOT Standard for Highway Signs and the Texas Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices. Being in compliance with TxDOT standards ensures that our TxDOT funded projects remain eligible for funding.
The term of both contracts will run through September 30, 2029, with the option to renew for two (2) additional terms of one (1) year each. The total renewals under this agreement shall not surpass September 30, 2031.
The agreements will be on-call in nature, with pricing according to the respondents’ price list, and utilized by City Departments based on need. The estimated annual spend on these contracts is $150,000 and is dependent on budget availability in the various department budgets.
