BACKGROUND INFORMATION:

The City is the record title holder of a 1.043 acre tract of land located at 156 Texas Avenue, New Braunfels, Texas, 78130, Comal County Property ID No. 151576.  New Braunfels Utilities has held the Property under its operational control and operated a water ground storage tank on the Property since approximately 1959, when the City transferred operations of the water and wastewater systems to New Braunfels Utilities.  New Braunfels Utilities has ceased operations of and decommissioned the ground storage tank on the Property.

 

ISSUE:

New Braunfels Utilities has no further operational use for the property and would like to hire a licensed real estate broker to list the property with a multiple-listing service (“MLS”) for at least thirty (30) days and sell the property to the potential buyer who presents the highest cash offer pursuant to Local Government Code, Section 253.014.

FISCAL IMPACT:
