BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
The Health & Food Safety Team in the Neighborhood Services Division of the Planning & Development Services Department ensures standards in Chapters 62 and 90 are adhered to by local food service establishments. Additional standards for food trucks and mobile food vendors in Chapter 144 are reviewed by the Planning Division of the same department.
ISSUE:
These sections of City Code have been updated over the years, but require additional changes to update and streamline processes for food trucks and other mobile food vendors, and to make the ordinances more consistent with the State of Texas Food Code and the FDA.
