May is Preservation Month!
INFORMATION:
The city is hosting several free events throughout the month of May to promote historic preservation, heritage and culture. Below is a list of events planned. Confirmed events and details can be found on the city’s website here: <https://newbraunfels.gov/474/Historic-Preservation>
• Friday, May 2: First Friday, “Discover the History” theme (DTA event)
• Saturday, May 3: Historic Tour of the Headwaters at the Comal
• Tuesday, May 6 - Saturday, May 10 from 12 to 4pm: Free Museum Week
• Wednesday, May 7 from 4-7p: Free Museum Day at the McKenna Children’s Museum
• Thursday, May 8: Know & Flow Yoga (Sophienburg Museum event)
• May 9: Ribbon Cutting at New Braunfels Youth Collaborative (the building is a local landmark)
• May 13: Coffee with Commissioners. Will follow our regular meeting.
• May 22 from 1-2pm: Free House Genealogy Class at the Westside Library
• May 17 and May 31, 11a-1p: Music at the Mural; guided tour of a single downtown mural with a local musician.
• Wednesday, May 28: Market Plaza historic plaque dedication
