Recommendation
Mandi Scott, Economic and Community Development Manager will provide the Board with an overview of the newly adopted Arts & Culture Master Plan which will include items related to the Parks and Recreation Department.
A presentation was provided to City Council on April 6, 2026 addressing the findings of the Arts & Culture Master Plan.
The Plan’s priority areas address:
- Programming & Cultural Experiences
- Places & Spaces
- Visibility & Tourism
- Operations & Capacity Building
In addition, the Arts & Culture Master Plan:
- Creates a long-term strategic vision for arts and culture in New Braunfels
- Provides support for artists, cultural organizations, and the development of creative spaces
- Drives economic growth through the creative sector
- Improves the community’s quality of life and sense of place
- Identifies collaboration and partnership opportunities amongst the public, non-profit, and private sectors
