BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
The Downtown Board acts in an advisory capacity to the City Council regarding the administration of the Downtown Implementation Plan.
The Downtown Board is comprised of Four (4) members from the following with a maximum of one (1) designated representative per entity: Comal County, Schlitterbahn Water Park, New Braunfels Chamber of Commerce Board, New Braunfels Convention and Visitors Bureau Board, Downtown Association (DTA), Historic Landmark Commission (HLC), Planning Commission, New Braunfels Economic Development Corporation (4B Board), New Braunfels Economic Development Foundation Board, Main Street Partners, or any recognized arts and heritage organization. Five (5) Downtown property owners or business owners (Downtown New Braunfels shall be defined as the area depicted in Exhibit A) or residents of the Downtown Residential Area (Exhibit B). No more than one member shall represent a single business. Two (2) members at large selected from within the New Braunfels City limits. The City Secretary’s Office accepted applications until March 31, 2023 and received 12 applications. The Ad Hoc Committee met to review applications and recommends David Kneuper and Gary Seals for the two Property/Business Owner seats that expire May 31, 2026 and Cheryl Ann Fisher and Sarah Harper for the Entity Representative seats with expiration dates of May 31, 2026. All applicants meet the qualifications for these appointments.
