BACKGROUND INFORMATION:

The New Braunfels City Council approved a resolution establishing the Business Improvement & Preservation Grant Program at its October 23, 2023 meeting.

 

An online grant application was opened in late October 2023 and the Economic and Community Development department has collected applications for the TIRZ 3 Board to review on a semi-monthly rolling basis. Four grants have been approved by the TIRZ 3 Board and City Council. The first grant recipient, Celebrations, received their $5,000 grant payment on September 5, 2024 after the completion of roof repairs and a revitalized sign.

 

Staff will present grant applications to the TIRZ 3 Board for consideration.

The TIRZ 3 Board has earmarked $50,000 for grant issuances in FY25.
