BACKGROUND INFORMATION:

The New Braunfels Lions Club desires to make a cash donation to the City of New Braunfels Parks and Recreation Department for the improvement of disc golf amenities in Prince Solms Park. Specifically, the Lions Club has pledged to provide a total contribution of $4,500.00 as a gift restricted to the purchase and installation of ten (10) professional-grade disc golf targets and associated mounting hardware and installation supplies.

In consideration of this donation, the Lions Club requests that the City transfer ownership of the ten existing targets to the Club to use as incentives for their fundraising among their membership.

The terms of the donation and transfer of property are reflected in the attached Donation Agreement.

ISSUE:

City Council approval is required for disposition of the existing ten targets. Following the installation of the new donated targets, the City would have no need for the old baskets and would otherwise dispose of them.

STRATEGIC PLAN REFERENCE:

Economic Mobility Enhanced Connectivity Community Identity

Organizational Excellence Community Well-Being N/A

This item supports the Strategic Plan priority of Community Well-Being by enhancing park facilities to maintain high citizen satisfaction with overall health and wellness opportunities. Additionally, partnering with a local community organization to fund these improvements aligns with the City's financial goals of reducing reliance on the General Fund.

FISCAL IMPACT:

Supply and equipment costs are covered by the Lions Club donation to the City. Labor costs for installation are minimal and have no significant effect on operations.
