BACKGROUND INFORMATION:

The Code Enforcement Association of Texas (CEAT) annually honors outstanding individuals in the field of code enforcement with the prestigious "Reginald ‘Reggie’ Jackson Code Enforcement Officer of the Year" award.

 

To be eligible for nomination, candidates must be active CEAT members, currently employed in code enforcement, and possess a minimum of two years of experience. Nominees must have demonstrated excellence, dedication, professionalism, integrity, and significant achievements in the field. Individuals are only eligible to win once.

 

ISSUE:

The City of Schertz nominated Amber Kearney Lee, New Braunfels Senior Code Compliance Officer, for this prestigious award. Amber received supportive signatures from the Code Compliance Team in New Braunfels and the Regional Task Force which includes Code Enforcement staff from surrounding cities.

 

Amber joined the New Braunfels team in 2021 after moving to Texas. She was hired here as a Senior Code Compliance Officer to lead the team of 4 officers. Prior to that, she served the residents of Menifee, CA as a Code Enforcement Officer II for five years. Highly credentialed in her field, Amber has contributed innovative leadership to the team and has brought her creativity, problem solving, and strong interpersonal skills to the role which has enhanced our operation’s customer service and community/neighborhood relationship building.
