BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
The Last Tuber’s Exit Improvements Project will improve egress from the Comal River with the replacement of the underwater landing and the addition of an ADA accessible transfer station.
The Landa Lake Dam Improvements Project will improve the global stability of the structure to comply with current TCEQ Dam Safety requirements and includes new sluice gates to control water entering the spring-fed pool.
Freese & Nichols, Inc. has completed final design on this project and the NBEDC has given a preliminary commitment to fund construction of the project.
City staff recommends issuing an invitation for a Competitive Sealed Proposals (CSP) as the procurement method for the construction contract. The CSP method allows the City to evaluate the most qualified contractors and the best value for the project.
The recommendation to award the individual construction contracts for these projects will be presented to the City Council for consideration and approval at future Council dates.
