BACKGROUND INFORMATION:

Section 6.03(e) of the Texas Property Tax Code requires that “The chief appraiser shall calculate the number of votes to which each taxing unit other than a conservation and reclamation district is entitled and shall deliver written notice to each of those units of its voting entitlement before October 1 of each off-numbered year.”  Therefore, please submit results of that vote to the Chief Appraiser of the Comal Appraisal District by December 15, 2025. This year the City Council is entitled to cast 495 votes for the candidates listed on the below ballet for two (2) seats. 

 

Current Directors are:

 

                     John Tyler - Comal ISD; Comal County

                     Eric Couch - City of New Braunfels

                     Bob Slupik - Comal ISD

                     James Long - Comal ISD

                     Douglas Miller II - Comal ISD

 

Candidates are: 

 

                     Sean Alvarez - Comal ISD

                     Case Brown - Comal ISD

                     Aaron Craig O’Neil - Comal County

 

ISSUE:  City Council must, by resolution, indicate which individuals are to be nominated to the board and what term they are nominated for. The official letter from the Comal Appraisal District is included in the agenda item for reference.

City Council to provide nominations to the Comal Appraisal District Board of Directors.
