BACKGROUND INFORMATION:

A presentation was provided to City Council on April 6, 2026 addressing the findings of the Arts & Culture Master Plan.

 

The Plan’s priority areas address:

-                     Programming & Cultural Experiences

-                     Places & Spaces

-                     Visibility & Tourism

-                     Operations & Capacity Building

 

In addition, the Arts & Culture Master Plan:

- Creates a long-term strategic vision for arts and culture in New Braunfels

- Provides support for artists, cultural organizations, and the development of creative spaces

- Drives economic growth through the creative sector

- Improves the community’s quality of life and sense of place

- Identifies collaboration and partnership opportunities amongst the public, non-profit, and private sectors

 

STRATEGIC PLAN REFERENCE:

FISCAL IMPACT:

There is no direct impact from the approval of the resolution; however, the Arts & Culture Master Plan will guide future endeavors to support, preserve, and advance art, culture, and heritage in New Braunfels - which may have future fiscal impacts.
