BACKGROUND INFORMATION:

The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) requires that agencies receiving state public transportation funds provide on an annual basis certification of signature authority which names staff members that have the signature authority for the specific functions they perform within the agency. Additionally, the City will execute a Master Grant agreement allowing the City to apply for project grant funds and execute the required certs and assurances annually.

 

 

ISSUE:

Seek alternative funding sources and partnerships that extend city tax dollars; Coordinate land use with strategic investments in multimodal transportation so residents and visitors can travel safely and easily throughout the city.

 

 

FISCAL IMPACT:

This action allows the City to receive State formula funds annually which can be used as matching funds received from the Federal Transit Administration. 

 

Recommendation

STAFF ANALYSIS:

Staff recommends approval of the resolution  authorizing the  City Manager to execute required documents by TxDOT for the receipt of state transit funds and make changes when necessary.
