BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
With the anticipated opening of the Zipp Family Sports Park, the Parks and Recreation Department is focused on identifying sustainable funding sources to support both the continued development and long-term operation of the facility. One potential revenue source is the sale of sponsorship and naming rights for key facility components, including athletic fields, concession areas, scoreboards, and other amenities.
To support this effort, the City issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) seeking qualified firms to develop and secure naming rights and sponsorship opportunities for the Zipp Family Sports Park. In response, three proposals were received and evaluated by a five-member selection committee consisting of representatives from the Parks and Recreation and Communications Departments.
Based on the evaluation, Sportsman Solutions received the highest overall score in the areas of qualifications, demonstrated capabilities, and client references. In addition, Sportsman Solutions presented the best financial proposal for the City. As a result, staff recommends award of the contract to Sportsman Solutions.
The proposed agreement establishes a naming rights partnership designed to generate ongoing financial support for the Zipp Family Sports Park.

FISCAL IMPACT:
This award will result in a revenue generating contract with Sportsman Solutions retaining a percentage of the commission of gross revenue depending on the type of lead the commission is generated from. Tier 1 (Cold Leads) will pay 25% Commission of Gross Revenue, Tier 2 (Warm Leads) will pay 20% Commission of Gross Revenue. Warm leads are defined as those the Client provides to Sportsman.

RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends that City Council approve the naming rights and sponsorship agreement with Sportsman Solutions.
