BACKGROUND INFORMATION:

To ensure compliance with City code, staff requests that City Council declare the following vehicle as surplus as this vehicle has a potential value greater than $ $5,000.

Unit 08416, a 2008 Pierce Velocity Pumper which has 154,962 miles has been approved for replacement in the FY 2025 budget. This unit is not currently in service for the fire department due to its high mileage and no longer serves a functional need for the department.

The Lake Dunlap Volunteer Fire Department borders the City of New Braunfels and serves residents within Guadalupe County responding to fire and EMS calls. The department currently has one 1996 pumper which is unreliable and in need of numerous repairs.

Unit 08416 will be donated to the Lake Dunlap Volunteer Fire Department through the Texas A&M Forest Service Helping Hands Program.
