BACKGROUND INFORMATION:

On May 16, 2024, the New Braunfels Economic Development Corporation (NBEDC) approved funding in the amount of $1,300,000 to construct pedestrian improvements on Oak Run Parkway at Westpointe Drive, Landa Street at Loop 337 and Settlers Crossing, Pahmeyer Road, and Savannah Hill in the New Braunfels Middle School and Klein Road Elementary School area.

 

A solicitation for competitive sealed proposals was issued on September 24, 2024. On October 24, 2024, the City received eight (8) bids. After review and concurrence, the city is recommending E-Z Bel Construction for award. E-Z Bel Construction was the lowest responsive and responsible bidder at $886,727.50.  Staff recommends an owner contingency of 10% in the amount of $88,672.75 and an allowance of 3% for material testing in the amount of $26,602.00 for a total construction cost of $1,002,002.25.

Continue an ongoing program of infrastructure construction and maintenance.

FISCAL IMPACT:

The NBEDC has approved the necessary funding for construction of the project, therefore sufficient funding is available.
