BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
On November 25, 2013, City Council approved a contract with River City Engineering (now Trihydro Corporation) for the design and engineering of Klein Road Phase 1. Klein Road Phase 1 is a road construction project in proposition 1 of the 2013 Bond program. This project is under construction with J3 but due to road failures the project will require additional engineering. Therefore, a modification of the contract with Trihydro Corporation for further design and administrative services to develop a repair scope for the failed roadway sections on Klein Road between FM 1044 and Walnut Avenue at a cost of $106,964 is needed.
Competitive Sealed Proposal - City staff recommends issuing an invitation for a Competitive Sealed Proposal (CSP) as the procurement method for the contract to construct these repairs. The CSP method allows the City to evaluate contractors based on criteria that identifies the best value for the project, including qualifications and cost. The recommendation from the evaluation of the proposals received will be presented to City Council for the direction regarding the approval of a contract for construction.
