Approval of an expenditure of up to $25,000 to reimburse Union Pacific for a feasibility study for the acquisition of real property located approximately at the 400 block of South Castell Avenue and found by the City Council to promote a project related to recreational or community facilities.

BACKGROUND / RATIONALE:
This item would provide up to $25,000 for Union Pacific to engage in Due Diligence Investigation Services related to relocating their existing Yard Office located in downtown New Braunfels to a new facility to be constructed at their Corbyn Yard. Relocation of this facility is a key component of any potential sale of the downtown Union Pacific property to facilitate the South Castell Visioning Plan.

FISCAL IMPACT:
The NBIDC has sufficient funding to support this expenditure.
Recommendation
COMMITTEE RECOMMENDATION:
The NBIDC voted unanimously to approve this item at their meeting on September 21, 2017.
