BACKGROUND INFORMATION:

The New Braunfels Economic Development Corporation (NBEDC) has worked to develop a list of capital projects to support - through engineering and design and/or construction funding - since the summer of 2022.  On December 15, 2022, the New Braunfels Economic Development Corporation (NBEDC) directed the Transportation and Capital Improvements Department to move forward with next steps in Phase 1 of the Citywide Pedestrian Improvement Project. The NBEDC funded final design of Phase 1 in March 2023 and approved construction funding in May 2024.

Phase 2 of the Citywide Pedestrian Improvement Project aims to increase pedestrian connectivity and safety by completing sidewalk gaps and addressing ADA concerns on Lincoln Street/Garden Street from Union Avenue to Seguin Avenue.
