BACKGROUND INFORMATION:

The Streets Division of the Public Works department utilizes on-call contracts to assist in street maintenance.  A solicitation was required to obtain qualified contractor(s) to install and modify pavement markings on City streets on an as-needed basis in support of the City’s Public Works Department.

A Request for Proposal (RFP) was issued on February 2, 2024, to obtain proposals from contractors capable of providing pavement marking services. The City received four proposals which were opened on February 26, 2024.

The evaluation committee reviewed all proposals to determine the best value to the City, with the intent to award to multiple vendors if possible to support scheduling demands. Several criteria were considered such as proposed contract pricing, qualifications and demonstrated experience in contracts of similar scope, proposed contract management, and other considerations submitted by all respondents.

After internal review, analysis and discussion, staff recommends Roadway Striping Inc, Interstate Barricades & Markings, and Linear Traffic Markings to provide support as necessary.

The base term of the contract will begin upon receipt of Council approval through August 31, 2027. Additionally, there are two, one-year options to renew for a combined total of five years.

ISSUE:

Maintain fiscal stability of city operations.

FISCAL IMPACT:

RECOMMENDATION:
