Discuss and consider the approval of an ordinance ordering a Runoff election to be held in the City of New Braunfels on June 13, 2026, to elect a Councilmember for City Council District 6 and the Mayoral seat: and establish Early Voting Locations and Polling Places for this Election; and making provisions for the conduct of the election; declaring an effective date upon one reading.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
The Runoff Election date is Saturday, June 13, 2026, which was selected based on consultation with the Comal and Guadalupe County Elections Office. The current Mayor, Neal Linnartz, and Councilmember for District Six, April Ryan, terms were set to expire on May 26, 2026, however, they will remain in office in a holdover status until the successors are elected by majority vote of all votes cast in the Runoff Election. This ordinance will only require one reading pursuant to Section 3.10 of the City Charter.
