BACKGROUND INFORMATION:

The City has received a request to lease a portion of the property located adjacent to Fire Station 4 on Alyssa Way for the installation of a cellular communications tower.  After consultation with the Fire Department, IT, and City Management, it was agreed that it would be beneficial for the City to enter into this agreement which will provide lease revenue as well as better coverage for our City cellular devices. 

 

 

ISSUE:

The Lessee is proposing an option period of two years in order to conduct their due diligence and obtain necessary permits to construct a tower on this property.  Upon notice to exercise this option, the lease will go into effect with an initial term of five years with the ability to renew for seven additional five year terms.

FISCAL IMPACT:

An option fee of $1,500 is being offered with an annual rental payment, upon exercising the option of $18,000.  The rental payment will be increased by 1.5% annually.
