BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
Staff is requesting approval for the purchase of vehicles for various City Departments. These vehicles are a combination of replacement vehicles for those that are being retired from service, and new vehicles to support new staff positions or new capital requests approved in the FY 2026 Budget. Any replacement vehicles have either met or exceeded their useful life as determined by our fleet services division.
The City will utilize multiple vendors: Bluebonnet Motors Ford with a City contract and Lake Country Chevrolet through a TIPS cooperative agreement, all of which have been competitively vetted. The schedule below will provide details for each purchase.

Additional vehicles were approved in the FY 2026 Budget that will be brought to the City Council for approval as quotes are obtained through manufacturer order schedules or cooperative opportunities, as stock is available from dealers.
In addition, staff recommends declaring the replaced vehicles surplus, which allows for the future sale or donation of the asset.
ISSUE:
Staff is requesting new and replacement vehicles to maintain the fiscal stability of city operations.

FISCAL IMPACT:
The costs for vehicles described above are incorporated into the FY 2026 General Fund Adopted Budget for the appropriate departments. Therefore, sufficient funds are available to purchase the vehicles.
