BACKGROUND INFORMATION:

The Watershed Advisory Committee is responsible for reviewing information and material regarding stormwater, water, and watershed issues and making recommendations to City Council.

 

The Watershed Advisory Committee is comprised of 9 members and consists of the following representatives within the City limits or the City’s Extraterritorial Jurisdiction (ETJ): one (1) engineer; one (1) developer; one (1) landscape planner, architect, or arborist; one (1) member representing the business community; one (1) member representing biological or environmental interests; two (2) citizens-at-large; and two (2) representatives from different homeowner’s associations.  The ETJ membership of the committee is limited to three total members.

 

The unexpired terms on the Watershed Advisory Committee were advertised during the Fall board and commission campaign; however, no applicants fitting the criteria required of the openings applied.  Mr. Bechtol is currently in holdover status on the Committee and has applied to continuing serving.  He was also recently selected as the Watershed Advisory Committee representative on the Bond Advisory Committee.

 

ISSUE:

Appointments to the Watershed Advisory Committee require Council approval.

 

 

FISCAL IMPACT:

No fiscal impact.

RECOMMENDATION:

Staff recommends reappointment.
