BACKGROUND INFORMATION:

The City is the owner of a 5.004 acre tract of real described as Tract #2, William E. Field Subdivision, according to the map or plat record in Volume 5, Page 39, of the Map and Plat Records of Comal County, Texas, addressed as 1493 Gruene Road in the City of New Braunfels, Comal County, Texas.  New Braunfels Utilities has held the property under their operational control since its purchase in 1975 as the former Gruene Road wastewater treatment facility.  New Braunfels Utilities has ceased operations and cleared the wastewater treatment facility from the property and has no further operational use for the property and would like to sell it by auction open to the public.

ISSUE:

Since the property is in the name of the City of New Braunfels, a resolution needs to be passed authorizing New Braunfels Utilities to Sell the property.

FISCAL IMPACT:

Since New Braunfels Utilities has held this property under its operational control since the property was acquired, all proceeds from this sale will be paid to New Braunfels Utilities, therefore, there will be no fiscal impact to the City.
