BACKGROUND INFORMATION:

The Alamo Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (AAMPO) Transportation Policy Board (TPB) includes a representative from the City of New Braunfels. The purpose of the TPB is to oversee the continuous, comprehensive, and cooperative transportation planning process conducted for the metropolitan area. The TPB must approve select transportation projects in the region for federal funding, with a total of over $200 million in projects annually. Former Mayor Pro Tem/Councilmember Andrés Campos was the primary member, and Councilmember Christopher Willis the alternate member, on the TPB. With the results of the May 2025 election, both the regular and alternate member positions are vacant.

Based on the composition of the AAMPO TPB, the City of New Braunfels needs to select a member and an alternate member from the City Council.
