BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
The 2019 Bond Program Proposition 1, Transportation Infrastructure, includes the Klein Road Phase II Project. The project consists of road, intersection, and drainage improvements on Klein Road between Walnut Avenue and FM 725.
Installing, adjusting, removing, and/or relocating certain electric utility facilities owned by GVEC are required so as not to cause conflict with the project improvements. Segments of existing electric utility facilities are within privately owned utility easements, and reimbursement of electric utility design and relocation costs to GVEC is necessary.

FISCAL IMPACT:
Expenditures associated with GVEC electric utility relocation are a component of the Klein Road Phase II Project. Sufficient funds are available in the 2019 Bond Program to fund the Utility Cooperative Agreement.
Recommendation
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends approval of the Utility Cooperative Agreement with GVEC for a lump sum cost not to exceed $159,551.32 to relocate the electric utility facilities associated with the Klein Road Phase II Project.
