National Park and Recreation Month
Parks and Communication staff hosted 17 events during the month of July to celebrate Nation Park and Recreation Month with the community. Some of the most well attended events were Pop Up Play Dates at Morningside Park and Landa Park, Art in the Park hosted by the New Braunfels Public Library, and the Landa Park Food Truck Party.
Timmerman Park
Construction of the fence surrounding the sport court at Timmerman Park has been substantially completed. The City received reports of use of the court after the park closed at midnight, and minor damage to the new gate was also discovered. The court has been temporarily closed while repairs can take place. Hours for the court will be changed to close at 9:00pm pending approval by the City Manager’s Office. At a future meeting, staff will discuss with the Park Board consideration of changing park hours for other facilities pursuant to Section 86-3(b) of the City Ordinance.
