BACKGROUND INFORMATION:

The Texas Election Code and the Texas Education Code provide provisions for School Districts to enter into agreements with municipalities to hold elections jointly to serve affected voters adequately and conveniently by providing common polling locations.

 

The attached agreement will allow for the City of New Braunfels, Guadalupe County, the City of Marion, the New Braunfels Independent School District, Marion Independent School District, Lake McQueeney Water Control Improvement District, and Comal Independent School District  to share common early voting polling locations for the May 3, 2025, Election.  Additionally, the agreement will provide for common election day polling locations.

 

 

ISSUE:

N/A

 

 

FISCAL IMPACT:

The City will see some cost savings depending on the nature of each City,  School district’s, and Water Control Improvement district’s election.
