Approval of the appointment of one individual to the Central Texas Technology Center Advisory Board for a term ending April 26, 2020.

BACKGROUND / RATIONALE:
The Central Texas Technology Center Advisory Board is comprised of ten members. Five members are appointed by the City Council of the City of Seguin, and the other five members are appointed by the City of New Braunfels. Of the five appointees from the City of New Braunfels, one shall be a member of the Greater New Braunfels Chamber of Commerce, one shall be a member of the New Braunfels Industrial Development Board of Directors, one shall be appointed on the recommendation of the New Braunfels Independent School District, and one shall be appointed on the recommendation of the Comal Independent School District, and one shall be appointed at-large.
One vacancy for an at-large member and one vacancy for a member of the New Braunfels Industrial Development Board of Directors were published December 16, 2016, through January 17, 2017.
The following qualified recommendation was made by the New Braunfels Industrial Development Board of Directors:

COMMITTEE RECOMMENDATION:
On January 19, 2017, the New Braunfels Industrial Development Board of Directors unanimously recommended Kathy Meurin to serve on the Central Texas Technology Center Advisory Board.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends the appointment of one individual to the Central Texas Technology Center Advisory Board for a term ending April 26, 2020.
