Approval of a contract in the amount of $39,849 with Yates Company, LLC for the purchase of Innotech Control System of Direct Digital Controls for the HVAC system at the New Braunfels Civic/Convention Center.

BACKGROUND / RATIONALE:
The Civic/Convention Center has identified a need for an upgraded HVAC automation system. Recently, the City has installed the Innotech Control Systems of Direct Digital Controls (DDC) at Das Rec, New Braunfels Recreation Center and, after review of multiple systems, has identified Innotech as the standard automation system to be installed in other City facilities. Standardizing the automation systems throughout the City will provide for consistency and cost savings from having multiple software systems performing the same tasks. Innotech’s DDC system will provide a temperature control system with intuitive, fully programmable operator interfaces. In addition, this system will provide for a remote on-demand view of the HVAC system to determine and help troubleshoot any problems that may arise, which may result in system efficiencies and greater performance. This system will tie to the City’s server which will provide for program safety and security. The contract will include the equipment and installation.
The total cost for this project is $39,849. Yates Company is the sole provider in this region for the Innotech Control System.
