BACKGROUND / RATIONALE:
The City issued an Invitation for Bids (IFB) on March 22, 2019. Eight responses were received. The supplies included in these contracts are materials needed for road construction such as, asphalt, base material, concrete, crushed stone, sand stone, and top soil. The City previously held contracts with five companies to provide these supplies. This agenda item is for the new contracts on road construction materials and will be for an initial one-year term with four one-year renewal options, for a total of five (5) years. A CPI/PPI increase is allowed during renewal options, with substantiated increase documentation.
This is an annual City-wide purchase on a requirements basis and the cost is estimated.
Last fiscal year the City spent $431,000 on road construction materials.

FISCAL IMPACT:
Funding for this project is provided through the FY 2018/19 Adopted Budget for Public Works Department and sufficient funds are available for the purchase as described above. Costs will be charged as invoices for supplies are submitted.
