BACKGROUND / RATIONALE:

Proposition 3 of the 2019 Bond Election which passed in May 2019, allocated funds for the purchase of land and construction of a new Police Headquarters.

 

The City executed a contract on April 9, 2019 with Ronald R. Nevitt, Patty V. Nevitt and Oakwood Estates, Inc. for the purchase of 1.298 acres addressed as 3030 W. San Antonio Street in the amount of $415,000 plus necessary closing costs.  Closing is scheduled for June 14, 2019.

FISCAL IMPACT:

Funding to purchase this land has been incorporated into the reimbursement resolution approved by City Council this evening. The City will utilize existing cash reserves to support this expenditure with the intention of being reimbursed when the first bond proceeds are issued later this fiscal year.
