Approval of a Change Order to D&S Concrete Contractors for the Oak Run Subdivision Sidewalk Improvements Project as part of the 2019 Bond Citywide Streets Program.
Body
BACKGROUND / RATIONALE:
The Citywide Streets Program was approved as part of the 2019 Bond election. Projects in this program could include: mill & overlay of pavement, curb repair/replacement, sidewalk, and concrete diamonds around meter boxes and manholes.
The Oak Run Sidewalk Improvements Project was designed by Urban Civil. The project includes connecting sidewalks on Oak Glen and on Timber Hollow to Crown Ridge as well as the addition of ADA curb ramps.
Due to the slope of many of the properties within the construction limits, additional retaining curbs/walls were required to prevent erosion where sidewalks were installed. The project also required additional sodding for revegetation. The design team did not adequately account for either of these necessary items, resulting in this change order.
This additional work totals $41,000 above the awarded contract amount and contingency originally approved by City Council.
