SUBJECT:

Title

Approval of maintenance agreement with Stryker Sales Corporation on durable medical equipment used by the New Braunfels Fire Department.

Body

BACKGROUND / RATIONALE:

The city identified a need to ensure its durable medical equipment used by its emergency medical staff is serviced and repaired promptly by Stryker. Equipment to be serviced is one manual cot, three Power-Loads, nine Power Cots, nine LifePak15 monitors and eight LUCAS devices. Maintenance contract will include annual preventive maintenance inspections, parts, labor, travel, unscheduled service and product equipment checklists, battery replacements, and software updates, and other services.

Stryker is the sole-source provider in the Hospital and Emergency Response Service market. Staff is recommending approval of consolidating its services under one agreement with Stryker for a total annual cost of $36,115.20, which will reduce the overall cost for these services.
