Approval of software renewal with CivicPlus who serves as the City’s website hoster/provider.

BACKGROUND / RATIONALE:
The City has been utilizing the services of CivicPlus since 2007. CivicPlus serves as the City’s website hoster/provider. The CivicPlus platform and technology allows the City to decentralize the content management of our website, so the various departments across the City can control the content on their specific pages. This must be done within guidelines created by our Communications team, so we keep the same “look and feel” across the City’s webpage, while still allowing the efficiency and effectiveness of content to be managed by the experts in each department. Most recently, we have begun the use of the CivicPlus platform to create our first intranet site. This single and easily accessible internal only site will be used to distribute various information to employees, in an always available on-demand basis.
The City has defined CivicPlus platform and technology as sole source due to its long-term investment and standardization in the system. Staff is recommending the continued use of the CivicPlus platform and technology for an annual cost of $27,498.
